Osimhen undergoes Gala medical today

Victor Osimhen is set to undergo his medical examination on Thursday (today) as Galatasaray prepare to finalise the Nigerian striker’s €75m permanent transfer from Napoli, with thousands of fans expected to welcome him at Istanbul airport

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Osimhen arrived in Istanbul on Wednesday with all signatures completed, paving the way for his medical to take place today before the official announcement of his move to the Turkish giants.

“Victor Osimhen, on his way to Istanbul as new Galatasaray player!” the Italian wrote on X accompanied with the striker’s pictures.

“Here, Victor with vice president Abdullah Kavuçku and George Gardi who worked on the deal.”

The Super Eagles striker has already shown his excitement about the transfer by posting on his social media accounts.

Osimhen first shared a photo featuring the Galatasaray logo and a lion image, before posting a video of himself boarding the plane to Istanbul.

Galatasaray are now counting the hours to complete what they describe as ‘the bomb of the year’ after reaching an agreement on all terms with both Napoli and the player’s representatives.

The Turkish publication Fanatik had reported that Abdullah Kavukcu, vice president of Galatasaray, travelled to Italy earlier this week to complete the transfer negotiations and was expected to return to Istanbul with the Nigerian star.

Under the terms of the deal, Galatasaray will pay Napoli €40m upfront, with the remaining €35m to be settled in two instalments by the end of 2026. A significant clause has been inserted into Osimhen’s contract, preventing him from returning to Serie A until 2027.

The 25-year-old striker has agreed to a four-year deal with the Yellow-Reds, earning an annual salary of €16m, making him one of the highest-paid players in Turkish football history.

Galatasaray are planning a grand unveiling ceremony for Osimhen during their home match against Lazio on Saturday, with the club’s management eager to present their marquee signing to the passionate fanbase at the Türk Telekom Stadium.
