At least three countries have been knocked out of the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup

Tunisia became the latest team to exit after a heavy 4-0 defeat to Japan in Monterrey on Sunday. They joined Haiti and Türkiye as the first sides to be eliminated from the tournament.

The Carthage Eagles, who had already lost 5-1 to Sweden in their opening Group F match, were condemned to an early exit after failing to pick up a single point from their first two games. With a maximum of three points still available, they can no longer reach the Round of 32.

In Philadelphia, five-time champions Brazil cruised to a 3-0 victory over Haiti in Group C, confirming the Caribbean nation’s elimination.

The result left Haiti bottom of Group C with zero points from two matches and a goal difference of -4. Their final group game against Morocco on June 24 will now be a dead rubber.

In Group D, Türkiye suffered a 1-0 defeat to Paraguay at the San Francisco Bay Area Stadium and joined Haiti in exiting the tournament.

The loss left them with two defeats from two games and no points, confirming their elimination with one match still to play.
