Vinicius wins FIFA The Best Award
Vinicius lost out the Ballon d'Or to Rodri, but he has now been crowned the best player by FIFA
Vinicius Jr has been named The Best FIFA Men’s Player for the first time.
The Brazil and Real Madrid star enjoyed the most spectacular season of his career in 2023/24. He regularly produced match-defining moments for Real Madrid, racking up 24 goals in 39 appearances across all competitions.
Personal highlights included a goal in Madrid’s UEFA Champions League final win over Borussia Dortmund and a hat-trick against Barcelona in the Supercopa de Espana final.
Vini Jr becomes the first Brazilian to win FIFA’s top men’s player award since 2007, and the first in its current iteration as The Best.
He topped the voting ahead of ten fellow nominees with 48 points, finishing ahead of Manchester City midfielder Rodri (43 points) and Real Madrid colleague Jude Bellingham (37 points).
