The Super Eagles of Nigeria found themselves in a difficult situation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which has led to the appointment of a new manager, and the Marlian has embarked on a journey to have one on one conversations with the players ahead of the qualifiers in March 2025.
As the Super Eagles prepare for their crucial FIFA World Cup qualifiers in March, newly appointed head coach Éric Chelle and his first assistant, Hedi Taboubi, have begun engagements with key players.
In a post shared on the Super Eagles’ official X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday, photos of the visit were accompanied by the caption: “Head coach Éric Chelle and first assistant Hedi Taboubi visited some Super Eagles players ahead of the crucial FIFA World Cup qualifiers. 🇳🇬🦅#RoadToWorldCup2026 #SoarSuperEagles”
Éric Chelle was appointed as the head coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles on January 7, 2025.
Chelle’s appointment comes at a critical time for Nigerian football, following a series of underwhelming performances in the qualifiers.
The Super Eagles currently sit fifth in their qualification group, having failed to secure a win in their four matches so far.
With the World Cup hopes hanging in the balance, Chelle and his coaching staff are keen to rally the squad and turn things around in the upcoming fixtures.
