Germany Women vs Spain Women Predictions

Germany proved in their quarter-final success that they have the fight and determination to trouble a team of Spain's quality. Still, even though they will run their opponents close, the effects of playing over 100 minutes with 10 players could take its toll, especially as they will have to work hard without the ball against a side that usually dominate the possession stats. With all that in mind, the world champions will do just enough to claim a narrow victory to advance to their first-ever Women's European Championship final

Team News:

  • Germany defender Sarai Linder has been ruled out of the remainder of the tournament after she sustained an ankle ligament injury on Saturday. Linder has joined captain Giulia Gwinn on the sidelines, while Hendrich is suspended following her early red card in the quarter-final. Wamser will return to the side after serving a one-match ban, and there could also be starting places for Sophia Kleinherne and Lea Schuller.
  • Meanwhile, Spain defender Laia Aleixandri will serve a one-match ban after picking up her second yellow card of the tournament in Friday’s quarter-final. Jana Fernandez and Maria Mendez are the options to replace the 24-year-old, with the former likely to be given the nod to partner Irene Paredes in central defence. The tournament’s top scorer Esther Gonzalez will be looking to add to her four-goal tally when he features in the front three with Mariona Caldentey and Claudia Pina.
